Our Worship Leader
Amy Davenport, Ph.D., is a Commissioned Ruling Elder from First Presbyterian Church – Norman and serves as United Presbyterian’s Worship Leader.
Amy received a calling in 2016 and immediately began discerning the call, learning more about how to serve the Presbytery, and determining the best way for her to move forward. At First Presbyterian – Norman, she served as an Elder, Trustee, Deacon, and as a Foundation Board Member. Through her positions at First Presbyterian – Norman, her beloved career at the University of Oklahoma, and her educational background which includes a Bachelor of Chemistry and a Doctorate in Adult and Higher Education – Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, she determined obtaining a Certificate in Ministry (CIM) from Austin Seminary was her path. She completed the CIM in 2022 and began serving as pulpit supply in 2023. For the next several years, Amy served congregations most Sundays in Midwest City, Ada, Lawton, Shawnee, Chickasha, and Norman.
In August 2025, Amy joined United Presbyterian – Shawnee as the Worship Leader and she has since joined the choir. Her husband, Lee, serves Norman Public Schools and her daughter studies Letters at OU.
